テキサス州オーステインの人気DJ、ジャングル・ジュリアは気の置けない仲間たちとバーへ繰り出し、女の子だけの会話に花を咲かせていた。 そんな彼女たちをつけ回す、ドクロマークの不気味な車を駆る顔に傷のある謎の中年男、スタントマン・マイク。 14ヵ月後、スタントウーマンのゾーイは、70年代型ダッジ・チャレンジャーに乗り込み、仲間たちとスタントライドを楽しむ計画を立てる。 早速ボンネットに乗り、危険なスタントを始めるゾーイだが、やがて彼女たちを、あのスタントマン・マイクが新たな獲物に見定め襲いかかる…。 C 2007 The Weinstein Company,LLC. All Rights Reserved. The yap revolves around hyperbolic debate over minutiae. He plays some mythical movie stunt man who just happens to be around in a surreal way. Then in the movie, suddenly, there occurs a considerable amount of pointless violence. Why the violence? It was unknown to me. The action concludes with the local sheriff making the statement that the violence will have moved state from Texas to where-ever, leaving me to think that the Russell character is that of a serial offender, but the theory is left vague once more. The movie then ends. I grew-up in an age of women establishing equal rights, wishing to be men and it made me sick. Until then I loved women normally, observing the wonder of femininity. However, in this movie, I find the violence towards women intolerable. If this movie reflects the new-age world we currently live within, then mankind has lost the art of living. One of Tarantino's lesser known movies and not one of his best but I particulary like it. The first half I find a little tedious, just girls talking, first in a car then in a bar, and the talking goes on for too long and goes no where. Then they leave the bar and the movie starts and gets interesting, then crash bang it's all very bloody and over. But the movies only half done. It jumps forwards to a new location. Three new girls in a car. Repeat of what went before?? One spots, in a local news paper, a V8 muscle car for sale, they must have it and got to buy it. Test driving the muscle car they cross paths with Kurt Russell the killer driver that brought the first half of the movie to an abrupt violent end but things don't work out quite the same for the killer this time and the rest of the movie is just one long violent car chase. All very stupid and Tarentino but once past the tedious first half it becomes quite good fun. For some reason, I never got round to watching this despite enjoying Planet Terror, Machete and Hobo With A Shotgun. All rubbish, of course, but fun rubbish. Sadly, Death Proof is just awful with nothing fun about it. And with the Lee, it has one of the most pointless characters in film history. She genuinely serves no purpose at all. A massive disappointment. I adore Tarantino's films and this one is up there with any of them. It's dark, yet has several comic moments, the dialogue is both sinister and clever, the acting is superb and the filming first class. The ending is completely unpredictable and shocking and fabulous! At first, you may be forgiven for thinking this is just a rehashed plot of a crazed killer, killing girls in an imaginative way, but don't be fooled. Kirt Russell makes an impressive, but ultimately cowardly, Bad Guy. Watch and enjoy. This is a very typical Tarantino film. His endings are usually very outrageous and this is no different though not quiet as dramatic as his later work.. I loved it but my wife who is also a fan of Tarantino thought it was trash. But..... what does she know! It was billed as an experiment in Exploitation cinema; two films back to back in the spirit of 42nd street appropriately named Grindhouse. 20 Years on the QT Vol. Full review at Knifed in Venice After seeing Planet Terror, I was really looking forward to seeing Deathproof. But i found it disappointing. Done in the style of Russ Meyer, the acting and stunts are excellent but you do need a strong story for a film to have substance. Interesting to watch as a separate movie but best watched as the Grindhouse Feature. Great retro movie looking into the heart of 70's 'b' movies. Kurt Russell is brilliant in this movie and there is only one thing greater than he, the sound track which is impressive. If you love and action movie you can't miss this! Its bullet for the modern masses Corny, violent, blood soaked and full of boobs and car chases. Just what you'd expect from a Tarantino movie and a homage to many classic 70's exploitation films. Don't expect to be amazed like you would with Pulp Fiction or Quentin's earlier releases, just expect to walk away satisfied and ready for his next outing. Another fun movie from Tarantino although this one is too-heavy on the dialogue. It could have been 25 minutes shorter and been all the better for it. Great action sequences and good acting from the girls and terrific acting from Kurt Russell. It's worth having in my collection but it's not one of his best.

「デス・プルーフ in グラインドハウス」を観ました

グラインドハウスとは、B級映画、低予算映画ばかりを二本立て三本立てで上映していたアメリカの映画館のことで、「グラインドハウス」はそんな映画館や映画の当時の雰囲気を盛り込んだオマージュ作品。 後に「プラネット・テラー」と「デス・プルーフ」が再編集された独立作品としても上映されました。 そんでもって架空の予告編「マチェーテ」の映画化が実現。 ロドリゲスががんばって撮っていて先日完成、2010年9月にロードショーです。 日本でも一刻も早くお目見えして貰いたいものです。 ついでにイーライ・ロスの「感謝祭」もお願いっ。 さて「デス・プルーフ」ですが、タランティーノ節炸裂です。 だらだらした女たちの会話、怖いシーンはめちゃ怖く、怖さがいつの間にか変な方へ向き、最後はハチャメチャの拍手喝采にて大満足B級テイスト映画に仕上がってます。 B級テイストといいながら、実は結構凝ってます。 パム役の個性的な美女ローズ・マッゴーワンはもう一本の「プラネット・テラー」でもチェリー役で出演。 「プラネット・テラー」も最高の出来っすよ。 2010.
